Derby High School Fall Sports Guidelines and Ticketing Policy 2020

General Event Guidelines for All Sports:

  1. Social distancing is necessary; please stay at least 6 feet apart from one another. Families can sit together but different families or groups are to social distance from one another.
  2. Masks are required to be worn.
  3. Make every effort to have exact change for gate and concession transactions in order to limit exchanges between our workers and patrons.
  4. No reserved seating for football, only general admission.
  5. No Passes will be allowed. District employees see the MOU, pending BOE approval 9/14
  6. Follow “markers” on the ground to social distance at concessions and the ticket booth.
  7. Concession workers will be masked and gloved when serving food.
  8. For safety reasons, seating areas may be marked as unavailable. Help us keep our student-athletes, coaches, officials and patrons as safe as possible by not using these areas.
  9. Locker rooms will be accessible to teams but we highly recommend, for both home and visiting teams and officials, to come dressed and ready to participate for the event. Masks will be required in locker rooms, athletic training rooms and coaches’ offices and any area considered outside of the playing field or court. Locker rooms will be sanitized prior to and after occupancy.
  10. Only essential personnel will be allowed in the press box and at scorer’s tables.
  11. Make your way to exits as soon as the event has concluded. Please wait for your student in your vehicle. There will be no congregating in the facilities.

**Many of our events will be broadcast for free on the NFHS Network this school year. Go to nfhsnetwork.com and search for Derby HS, Kansas.

Ticketing Procedures

**Ticket purchases maybe online or in person, depending on the event.

Tennis, Golf, Cross Country

These sports do not require tickets to observe the competition. This process will remain the same except

  • All spectators will be asked to social distance and it is recommended to wear a mask.
  • All spectators need to keep their distance from the athletes.

Football, Soccer, Volleyball

These sports require tickets to enter the competition.  There will be limited spectators at these events this year.  We will use a ticketing system to handle crowd limitations.  Certain sub-varsity events may adjust rules because of smaller attendance.
