Derby nabbed the lead late in the game in a 9-6 victory over Dodge City on Friday. The game was tied at six with the Panthers batting in the top of the sixth when Alex McGill drew a walk, scoring one run. Derby earned the victory despite allowing Dodge City to score four runs in the fourth inning. Derick Blansett, Wyatt Childress, and Adrian Mendoza powered the big inning with RBIs. Dodge City got things moving in the first inning. Noah Sowers grounded out, scoring two runs. Alex Jacobs got the win for Derby. He went three and a third innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out three. Colten Nelson threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Keanin Camacho took the loss for Dodge City. He allowed three hits and four runs over two innings.
