Tyler Farmer threw a shutout to lead Derby Panthers past Southeast 23-0 on Friday.
Derby secured the victory thanks to 13 runs in the fourth inning. Noah Johnson, Beau Rodriguez, Grant Adler, Brett Leon, Weston Murrow, and Alex Jacobs all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Derby got on the board in the first inning. Adler drove in one when he doubled.
Derby put up 13 runs in the fourth inning. The Panthers big bats were led by Johnson, Rodriguez, Adler, Leon, Murrow, and Jacobs, all knocking in runs in the inning.
A single by Hayden Witt in the first inning was a positive for Southeast.
Farmer was credited with the victory for Derby. He allowed three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out ten and walking one.
Crawford Anderson took the loss for Southeast. He allowed three hits and one run over one-third of an inning, walking zero.
Smith started the game for Southeast. He lasted two innings, allowing eight hits and nine runs while striking out one
Derby smacked one home run on the day. Murrow went yard in the fourth inning.
Derby had 17 hits in the game. Adler, Colten Nelson, Rodriguez, and Brett Westerman all had multiple hits for the Panthers. Adler went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Derby in hits. Derby didn’t commit a single error in the field. Nelson led Derby with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with ten stolen bases.
