Cold and rainy weather seems to be the theme for this team as four of their last five games have been played in these conditions. It does not seem to slow the guys down as they had another dominating performance. They completed well over three-hundred passes, tripling the total of the visitors from Newton. While Derby did have complete control of this match they were a little slow through the first half as their shape was a little off taking away what would normally be a nice easy pass and turning into having to hold the ball and wait for help. Even with that Derby was able to net three shots in the first.
The second half was much cleaner and fluid for the boys. They were able to score twice more but both were in the closing minutes of the match. While they were much more organized in the second half, they just could not find a way to manufacture goals.
Derby (14-0,5-0) will get a much deserved break after playing seven games in the last week. They will play again Tuesday at Eisenhower before closing out their season at home Thursday against Salina Central.
