Manhattan High School vs Derby High School
2 5
1 2   1
2 -   4

A 2’ goal and Derby was behind, again. It was just too easy of a goal for Manhattan and would make one think, here we go again. But it wasn’t the case. Andy Denesongkham found himself one on one on the outside and heading to goal, burying the shot in the 6’, and the match was even. The teams would both settle in from that point and things were pretty even, until Manhattan grabbed the lead back in the 25’.
There was just something different about Derby tonight though, there was more of a fight in them this evening, it just took a while to connect that final ball. The Panthers pulled even again when Caden Miller found Blake Chadwick in the 60’. Derby continued pushing and earned a corner just three minutes later. Scott Simmons sent the kick to the near post where it went off a Manhattan defender to give Derby the lead. Derby was still not done as this time Blake Chadwick would get the assist, feeding Caleb Day in the 76’, and Andy Denesongkham would find Logan Eickleman in the 79’, finishing off the 5-2 win.
Now off to Salina South for Derby (4-5-2, 1-2-1) in a league battle tomorrow.
